Firestorm Upad

Sporting a unique (upside-down) design for a PS2 gamepad, the Firestorm Upad controller is most comfortable for gamers with medium to large-sized hands. In fact, it's actually a bit more bulky in mass than the original PS2 controller from Sony, unusual since most third-party pads tend to be the same size or smaller.

As for features, the all-analog Upad comes equipped with two built-in vibration motors, two mini-joysticks, an eight-way D-Pad, and eight action buttons. Further, it sports rubber-textured grips, a turbo function (which can be assigned on the fly to any of the controller's action buttons), and three modes of play: analog, digital, and Negcon.

The unit functions well, has strong feedback effects and seems to be solidly built. It is, however, unique among PS2 gamepads and may not appeal to everyone in feel or style. And, again, it's best suited to gamers with good-sized hands, making it inappropriate for younger children. Notwithstanding, it's a capable controller for those who like something a bit out of the ordinary.
