Ik ga dus op citytrip naar Londen rond 5 december en vroeg mij af welke dingen ik zeker eens zou moeten bekijken ?

Zijn er ook dingen die ik zeker eens zou moeten eten/kopen , souvenirs etc,.. ?

Dit word mijn eerste keer daar en ik wil toch al een paar tips enz,.. over wat ik zeker eens zou moeten doen

Hopelijk zijn er een paar mensen met ervaring hier

Aantal jaren terug op schoolreis in Londen geweest.

The British Museum vond ik wel knap.. Zeker een bezoekje waard

Er is enorm veel te zien, maar ik zal hier al vast wat namen rondstrooien:

Zo goed als alle musea zijn hier gratis, dus best op voorhand kiezen welke je zeker wil zien. (Natural History Museum, V&A, Science Museum, British Museum, The National Gallery,..)

Kerstsfeer opsnuiven tijdens het shoppen kan op Oxford St, Regent St, Carnaby Street, Harrods,.. Zeker ook eens binnenspringen in Hamley's (enorm grote speelgoedwinkel) op Regent St.

Enkele andere typische plekjes: Covent Garden, Hyde Park (+ Speaker's Corner!), Picadilly Circus,..

Ik kan je zeker ook aanraden om een musical te gaan bekijken in de West End. Bijvoorbeeld klassiekers als 'Phantom of the Opera' en 'Les Miserables' of iets luchtigers als 'the Lion King'. Musicals in Londen zullen je allesbehalve teleurstellen.

Aangezien ik geen topic wil starten die om hetzelfde gaat, ga ik mijn vraag hier maar bijplaatsen.

Wij zitten van 24 tot 28 December in Londen, en ik vroeg me af of er bepaalde zaken echt aan te raden zijn qua kerstmis sfeer / festiviteiten?

De "must see" dingen voor een gewoon bezoek heb ik hier al wel gevonden, maar niks echt specifiek over kerstmis in Londen.

Je moet eens passeren op Oxford Street, Harrods in Knightsbridge, Leicester Square, Camden lock market, Tower Bridge 's avonds...

Als je kan neem of zoek u een oyster card, zet er geld op en gaan met die tube ! Is het gemakkelijkst.

Weet er iemand waar dat ge goeie multimediawinkels enzo kan vinden? & niet al te dure maar toch deftige kledij & accesoirewinkels?

Multimedia: hmv, der is der een aan picadilly circ.
Kleren; gewoon Oxford street, en het gebied tussen Oxford en picadilly (rechterkant).

Hoe zit het trouwens met betalen? Halen jullie gewoon ponden hier bij de bank?

Hoeveel doen jullie zo op in Londen? We gaan +- 5 dagen blijven.

gewoon alles me maestro betalen is het handigste, en nu de pond laag staat is het de moment.

Ik ben momenteel ook plannende om een 3 daagse naar Londen te gaan
'k heb ne maat die in Londen woont en da waren zijn tips voor mij:

As far as thing to do there are a lot. Ill do a google map with some good things.

These are in no particular order...

1. Oxford Street, Regents Street - Lots of shops. I mean lots. Christmas lights etc should still be up. Oxford Circus Tube station.

2. Natural History Museum. Free entry apart from certain exibits. Allow a few hours for this. Dinosaurs and things. Quite cool. Also they have a very nice ice skating rink during the winter. South Kensington Tube station. Signposted from in there

3. Hyde Park. Biggest park in the middle of london if its not raining really nice place for a picnic (albiet cold). Hyde Park Corner tube is your best bet. Buckingham Palace is walking distance to have a look.

4. Soho. Trendy area with lots of good bars eaterys. Walkable from any of the surrounding tube stops. Picadilly Circus is a good one. Most of the theaters are around here. Be warned however there are a lot of gay bars around here.

5. Westminster - Few touristy things around here including Big Ben, Houses of Parlement and Westminster abby. Think there is the cabinet war rooms also where churchil and his cabinate drove the british ww2 effort. Can walk across the bridge to (6)

6. London aquarium - Lots of cool fish etc. Will probably be about 20 euros to get in .I assume its open in the winter. Westminster or waterloo tube station. Lots to do around here.

7. London Eye - Big fuck off feris wheel. Can see all of london from it. well worth it. Cant remembner the price off the top of my head. Waterloo tube best bet.

The other thing around here is the IMAX cinema which is a 3d cinema with the biggest screen in the europe. I think.

8. Borough Market. This place is epic. Some fantasic food and things. London Bridge tube station. Very close to London Dungeon which is well worth a vist.

9. Hampstead. Bit out of the way but a great little place. Close to an english village as youll get in london. Some great great pubs (i can give you a list) and Hamstead Heath is a massive bit of countryside in london.

(dringend) vraagje: ik zou graag es een film meepikken uit die befaamde BFI IMAX cinema. Ik zie daar een student rate van 9 pond. Mag ik die student rate(als 'buitenlandse' student) kiezen als ik mijn studentenkaart mee heb? Of moet ik het 4 pond duurdere ticket nemen voor een adult? Hopelijk kan iemand hier snel antwoord op geven, want die tickets voor Avatar vliegen de deur uit
