Start op via je windows xp cd
ga naar de repair console via R
er komt dan bv : 1 ) C:\WINDOWS
selecteer dan 1 , dan weer op enter drukken tenzij je een administrator password hebt ingegeven.

copy C:\windows\repair\system C:\windows\system32\config\system
copy C:\windows\repair\software C:\windows\system32\config\software
copy C:\windows\repair\sam C:\windows\system32\config\sam
copy C:\windows\repair\security C:\windows\system32\config\security
copy C:\windows\repair\default C:\windows\system32\config\default
Herstart nu
Laad windows laden en navigeer naar C:\ druk op Extra -> Mapopties -> Weergave -> Beveiligde besturingssystemen verbergen afvinken en op OK drukken.
Ga nu naar de schijf waar WINDOWS is op geinstalleerd bv: C:\ als op C: windows is geinstalleerd.
Open nu de map System Volume Information
1a) bij FAT32 systemen zou je onmiddelijk hier in geraken
1b) heb je NTFS rechter klik dan deze map en ga naar beveiliging
ga dan naar de Beveiligings tab en druk op Voeg Toe. Geef dan je gebruikersnaam in waarmee je werkt (deze staat vanboven als je op Start drukt)
Hier staan mappen zoals "_restore{87BD3667-3246-476B-923F-F86E30B3E7F8}"
Open nu een map die niet op het moment zelf is aangemaakt.
kopieer nu
_registry_user_.default
_registry_machine_security
_registry_machine_software
_registry_machine_system
_registry_machine_sam
naar C:\Windows\tmp
Herstart nu. Ga weer naar de recovery console van windows xp via de cd
voeruit:
Del c:\windows\system32\config\sam
Del c:\windows\system32\config\security
Del c:\windows\system32\config\software
Del c:\windows\system32\config\default
Del c:\windows\system32\config\system
copy c:\windows\tmp\_registry_machine_software c:\windows\system32\config\software
copy c:\windows\tmp\_registry_machine_system c:\windows\system32\config\system
copy c:\windows\tmp\_registry_machine_sam c:\windows\system32\config\sam
copy c:\windows\tmp\_registry_machine_security c:\windows\system32\config\security
copy c:\windows\tmp\_registry_user_.default c:\windows\system32\config\default
Ga naar Start, alle programma's, bureau-accesoires, systeem-tools,
system restore en kies een herstelpunt.
