So you start your job with the following data.

The company has establishments at 4 different places, Hasselt, Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels. There is a WAN connection between Antwerp and Brussels, between Hasselt and Brussels, between Ghent and Brussels, between Antwerp and Ghent.

In the Hasselt establishment are the production department and the sales department. For the production department we need 150 pc and for the sales department we need 20 pc.

In the Antwerp establishment are the logistical service and the stock management. For the logistical service we need 15 pc and for the stock management we need 5 pc.

In the Brussels establishment are the Board of directors. In Brussels we need 17 pc.

In the Ghent establishment are the financial services and the administration. For the financial services we need 33 pc and for the administration we need 8 pc.

The ip address you can use is: 188.224.64.0 /23. You have to divide the address space so efficient as possible. You have to use Variable Length Subnet Mask.

Your task is to give each pc in the complete network a valid ip address.


After your calculations you have to provide the students of the second year (2 TI) all informations on how the routers must be configured. How many interfaces of which type, which ip addresses for which interface, which subnetmask for which interface. To determine the ip address of the default gateway, you will use the first useable ip address.
