Match 1: Jund, 1-0
This was surprisingly easy. G1 was a nut draw. G2: mulled to 5 and beat me to death with goyf and bob. G3: I made two big play mistakes and still managed to win.
Match 2: Kiki Pod, 2-0
2 straights wins. G1: she blocked Glistener, with rancor and other pump, with a Spike Feeder, removed all the counters for lifegain. Weird play against trample and infect.
Although the opponent knew I was playing Infect, she fetched a voice of resurgence with Pod, instead of Thalia, and then she tried blocking blighted agent with Voice. ?? She didn’t pay great attention.
Match 3: Zoo, 3-0
I think it was only 2 games. Nut draws for the win.
Match 4: Bogle, 4-0
This one I feared since they can go off T2 more easily then we can. G1: nuts draw and straight win with one attack. My draws so far were better than ever. G2: since I fetch aggressively (almost no duals come into play tapped), I was already down to 14 after 2 turns and then she beat me for 14 damage.
G3: good draw. For a final attack she had W/G mana open, so I feared PtE. But I had to take the chance, since she could go off next turn. She also had a reach-creature and I had an Apostle’s blessing in hand to get my beast through. All in it was, and she didn’t have removal. So match 4 was a win.
Match 5: Merfolk, 4-1
2 games and straight losses. Mainboard spellskite which in both games came out really early, is killer. A top deck Pithing Needle in G2 (as my first draw), targeting vial, slowed him down. Attacking for max 2 infect a time just isn’t enough.
Match 6: Affinity, 5-1
Another one I feared. G1: decent draw, top deck apostle’s blessing to get my beast through against Blinkmoth and Inkmoth. G2: he had bad luck. T1: blinkmoth, mox opal, go. T2: draw-go, T3: draw-go. So pretty easy.
And then it went downhill.
Match 7: GR Tron. 5-2
So far I never won against GR Tron and early on he always had an oblivion stone, karn, pyroclasm, spellskite, gut shot… as removal. I made a mistake which wouldn’t have made even the slightest difference.
Match 8: Bogle, 5-3
I don't think I won one game; his deck was way better (or it came out better then the first one I encountered). He kept on drawing cards and attacking for a gazillion damage, during 2 games.
