Naar aanleiding van Curve zijn geval vandaag zal ik ook hier de topic copy-pasten waarin ik enkele kleine maar zeer handige tips geef om je beter te beveiligen.
Last week i was at Davitsche's play, and i was surprised that he didn't protect his pc in any way. Not using firewalls, anti keyloggers, a decent virusscanner and even worse, playing on an unsecure wireless network. This just baffles me. Any decent regular got at least around 5K online. The cost of securing your pc (2hours of time + 100ish euro) > getting hacked..IMO
I'm bad in writing articles, and very lazy, so just gonna sum up things you should consider using to protect your pc.
1. use a genuine windows version and update regularly
2. do not use a one-password-for-all method. I recommend everyone to use Keepass. It's a tool that saves all your paswords, either on your desktop or on an USB stick. It also autogenerates more secure passwords if you would like that. The best thing about this piece of software, is that you'll copy/paste your passwords instead of typing them, which prevents keylogging software to get your passwords. On top of that it prevents trojan clients to see your passwords when they take screenshots of your desktop every xx seconds. (yes this is possible and very easy to install)
KeePass Password Safe
3. use an anti-keylogger. Keyloggers are soooo easy to install as well. They will log every key you press and this way the hacker gets all your passwords. There is software which prevents this by changing every key u press, to a different one. eg; you type 'password' and the software deforms the word to '8dk%zodx'.
QFX Software - Anti-Keylogging Software and More
(get the pro version that supports almost every pokersite available; 29$ might save you getting hacked and lose a few K's)
4. use a good anti-virus/firewall program. There are a lot of different antivirus, so just get one like avast, bitdefender, mcafee etc...
5. use an anti-spyware tool regularly. I recommend Lavasoft Ad-aware to keep your pc clean.
Let the anti-spyware & antivirus (full indepth scan) run every 3 nights while disconnecting yourself from the internet for that night. In the morning u check. If everything is ok, smile, be happy and continue to grind again with a feeling of security.
cheers
