Dear Sir, Madam,
I would like to file a formal complaint regarding the arresting of the two coworkers of Bohemia Interactive Studios, as portrayed on the following website:
Get ARMA3 devs home: Ivan and Martin jailed in Greece - ArmA III developers charged with espionage in Greece (updated) | Ars Technica
They have unlawfully been detained for alledged espionage by your country, while they were on vacation to experience the country on which they have chosen to base their upcoming game ArmA III, more information at Arma 3 | official website .
The fact that they have chosen a Greek island is in its own a mark of positive publicity for your country. ArmA has a large active community of enthousiasts, who often travel to the location where the game is taking place, just to experience it in real life. An example can be found here: These Guys Went to the Real DayZ Island, Dressed Up And Took Pictures (DayZ is a popular modification for ArmA II, predecessor of the game both coworkers you are holding are currently working on, due to release near the end of this year). I can only see people who were thinking of traveling to Greece withdrawing their intention to do so after what happened to these two development team members.
As your country is currently in turmoil and experiencing a decline of tourist activity, arresting and detaining these development team members for alledged espionage, without reasonable evidence aside from a suspicion, is not only a wrong decision, it is also an act of very very very bad publicity (as if you needed more of that). Instead, you should release these men and hence forward be cooperating with Bohemia Interactive, the company as it has found part of your country to be the perfect muze for their upcoming game. This in itself is already a complement to your beautiful country. Rewarding this complement by releasing the development team members and allowing them to go home safely so they can finish their work, is the only good thing to do. This will prove to everyone that Greece is indeed the hospitable country everyone knows it to be.
I sincerely hope your country does the right thing and sends these two gentlemen home.
Signed
