the team at Overhaul is adding "new, original content" to the original game to make up the Enhanced Edition. "This is the Enhanced Edition, it's not a repackage. We have the original source code and are doing a significant update," a rep said. He also confirmed that no platforms have been announced just yet.
Update: Overhaul has passed along the raw text from the game’s website, which I’m pasting here. Trent Oster also revealed in a tweet that the Enhanced Edition will include the Tales of the Sword Coast Expansion. “Since its initial release in 1998, Baldur’s Gate has entertained millions of fans around the globe, and has received countless awards. This classic saga of mystery, intrigue, and adventure has set the standard for Dungeons & Dragons® computer roleplaying games ever since. Overhaul Games has assembled a talented team of artists, programmers and designers to enhance this timeless classic. To remain true to the spirit of the game, the team includes original Baldur’s Gate developers. Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition™ and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition™ will feature a re-forged version of the Infinity Engine with a variety of modern improvements.”

@mat_detorre There will be two games. Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition #bgee=BG+TotSC, bg2ee=bg2+ToB
@PeterGodsic If by today's graphics standards you mean lots of 3D rendering, no. We're 2D isometric all the way
@DiogoOrtigoso #bgee is 2nd Edition D&D. Our first rule is don't break the fun. Part of the appeal of BG was the depth of the rules system
@TrentOster Any word on how the game looks compared to Baldur's Gate with widescreen mod right now? Same or different/better?
@Turgescence it will be better. We've got the code to rework the UI and rendering
Ik zie dit spel niet werken op consoles...
Meer informatie is er voorlopig nog niet
