The Vision Gran Turismo project is the setting for the world's best automakers to develop concept cars for motorsports fanatics. The Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo pushes the boundaries at the intersection of technology and design. This is not your traditional Mazda but a vision of the future with a healthy dose of respect for the past. It’s the product of setting your sights on outright victory at the world’s most demanding endurance race, the famed 24 Heures du Mans.
For the design of the Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo, the Mazda Design team blended agility with elegance. Its dynamic silhouette is drawn with sensual forms inspired by Mazda’s Kodo design philosophy. Even the shape of the front grille is an interpretation of the Mazda signature front end developed for its production vehicles. The stance of the Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo, reminiscent of the famed 787 B that took overall victory at the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans, is powerful yet graceful.
The Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo barely tips the scale with lightweight, carbon fiber components, including a monocoque chassis clad in striking atmospheric-white paint. Pair this with advanced drive train technology that offers the epitome of power, efficiency and durability and the result is an exceptional power to weight ratio exceeding that of most cars in its class.
The Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo is Mazda’s vision of the future born of their unrelenting challenger spirit.
Since their establishment in 1955, Alpine has left many legendary marks in motorsports history, with the light weight and agile performance of their cars. And the car developed for Gran Turismo by this iconic French sportscar brand, is the “Alpine Vision Gran Turismo”. The single seater that will soon make its apperance through an update of Gran Turismo 6, takes its motifs from the variety of Alpine cars that have made their name in rally racing and the 24 Hours of LeMans. This is a model that gives an advanced look at various ideas that would be taken into consideration in future Alpine cars. Appearing in the movie footage are Alpine CEO Bernard Olivier and development staff members, the famed models that provided its inspiration, and an introduction of the unique exterior and driving scenes of the Alpine Vision Gran Turismo.
A classic Gran Turismo original circuit – Midfield Raceway – will be returning to the series in the next free GT6 update! First introduced more than 15 years ago in Gran Turismo 2, Midfield has not been seen since the release of Gran Turismo 4 back in 2004 (aside from an appearance in Gran Turismo PSP), and has never been seen on the PlayStation 3.
It’s back in a big way, too, with full time-of-day and weather changes. It’s also been completely overhauled with a major graphical update for GT6.
Inspired by the legendary motor sport successes of the brand, the MINI design team created the MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo: the essence of a MINI for total racing. The 395 PS (389 BHP) drive accelerates the lightweight 1050kg of the MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 3.5 seconds. The permanent 4WD and 6-speed sequential transmission with race gearbox guarantee optimum power transmission. The McPherson dampers in the front and HA3 dampers at the rear are both fully adjustable and ensure perfect adherence in any situation. This Clubman can achieve a top speed of up to 180 mph, depending on the gear ratio (specific for each race track).
The characteristic silhouette of the MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo lies flat on the road, and the wheels are positioned far outside the body to allow the car to handle like a go-kart. Adjustable carbon diffusers in the front and rear and large vents behind the wheel arches regulate the airflow for cooling the engine and brakes. The split rear spoiler and fully enclosed underbody enhance the sophisticated aerodynamics.
MINI design features such as the flat, hexagonal front grill, elliptical headlights with implied racing-design stickers, and rally stripes on the bonnet and roof demonstrate the clear motor racing sport orientation of the MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo. Quick release hinges on the bonnet and tank and the small sliding window on the side add the perfect finishing touches to the classic appearance of the MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo.
An update for Gran Turismo 6 has been released. The following is a list of the main features introduced:
Vision Gran Turismo
The "MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo" has been released.
After the update has been installed, the car can be purchased from the [Vision GT] option within the [CARS] section in "My Home". Alternatively, it is also possible to obtain the car by completing a lap (regardless of the lap time) in the new Seasonal Event, available only for a limited time.
Mid-Field Raceway
The popular original track of Gran Turismo makes a comeback with further refinements! This high speed circuit is built on a mountain landscape full of inclines and descents. It is further made dynamic by the famous grade separated crossing where the direction of the lap circle changes, and its long flat out sections and mid to high speed corners.
B-Spec Mode
"B-Spec" mode, where an AI driver races for the player, has been implemented in all Career Mode race events. You can use B-Spec for races you might find difficult to complete such as some of the longer endurance races, or when you just want to enjoy watching the race. You can select [B-Spec] from the Quick Menu displayed before the start of an event race in [Career Mode].
"Paint" options expanded
The [Paint] options have been expanded and it is now possible to paint the custom rear wings. In addition, the option [Select from an already painted colour.] has been added to the Paint menu to make it easier to paint the body and the wings with the same colour.
Additional cars available to paint
It is now possible to paint the body of the "Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo" and the "Chevrolet 2X Vision Gran Turismo".
Other improvements and adjustments
- The steering wheel controller force feedback has been weakened for the Red Bull X Series Fan Car.
- It is now possible to view the content of the Seasonal Events from the Community features available on gran-turismo.com
For more details on each of the above features, please refer to the online manual on gran-turismo.com.

The LEXUS is not the only Vision GT car to be driving in to Gran Turismo 6 in this brand new update. The Alpine Vision Gran Turismo and ‘Alpine Vision Gran Turismo Race Mode’ cars will also be available from today. The ‘Race Mode’ edition is a single seat sportscar containing the essence of Alpine tradition and the future.
After Update 1.17 has been installed, the car can be purchased from the [Vision GT] area within the [CARS] section in “My Home” (here, you will also find the car’s presentation movie). PEUGEOT designers teamed up with PEUGEOT SPORT engineers to craft an outstanding supercar that has all the hallmarks of a high-performance endurance racer, brought to life in glorious high definition in GT6™. At first glance, the PEUGEOT Vision Gran Turismo reveals a striking monolithic silhouette sculpted to sweep aside air resistance, standing just 104 cm tall, with the notable absence of nearly any aerodynamic features. The body design alone is enough to effectively stick the car to the road.
The central V6 turbo 3.2L engine, just behind the driver, feeds its 875 bhp to the ground via six-speed manual transmission and an all-wheel-drive system comprising 22-inch alloys in the front and 23-inch counterparts in the back. This, coupled with the lightweight design—tipping the scales at just 875 kg!—and super-responsive steering makes this the ideal steed to saddle in taking up the GRAN TURISMO challenge. Not to mention the car's phenomenal acceleration, taking it from 0 to 100 kph in 1.73 seconds thanks to a power-to-weight ratio promising one horsepower for every kilo of curb weight... Deceleration is equally impressive, with four ventilated BREMBO carbon discs (380 mm in the front and 337 mm in the rear).
