The Hunt is an initiative established by the Eorzean Alliance, offering a bounty to adventurers who aid in quelling the threat posed by notably dangerous monsters that prowl the lands of Eorzea.
The hunt is a new mode that has been added in patch 2.3. Elite Marks roam the free world of Eorzea putting the citizens in great danger. We, adventurers of Eorzea, have been summoned to address this threat.
Intro
Three types of marks can be found:
- B - Spawns aproximatly every hour, rewards the hunter with 5 allied seals, 30 Tomestones of Mythologie and 10 Tomestones of Soldiery
- A - Spawns aproximatly every three hours, rewards the hunter with 10 Allied Seals, 80 Tomestones of Mythologie and 20 Tomestones of Soldiery
- S - Spawns aproximatly every 36 hours if certain conditions have been met, rewards the hunter with 50 allied seals, 200 Tomestones of Mythologie and 40 Tomestones of Soldiery
- Each Elite mob has a change of dropping a Blood-spattered Mark Log worth 250 Allied Seals
Every region has its own A, B and S mark, a full list can be found on the following website:

How to hunt
In order to receive the full reward of a hunt you have to weight in enough by providing enough damage or supporting the players. It is sufficient to hit the mark once to obtain your rewards
Tips:
Always hunt in party's, the contribution and therefore reward will be the same for all party members in the zone provided you hit the mark at least once
It is strongly adviced to use a healer class: hit the mark once and then spam AOE health, this will guarantee a maximum contribution
As the hunt marks have approximatly known spawn times you can predict in which regions you have the most chance of finding a mark. The following website enables you to track your hunting session:
The Hunt Tracker.
As you can not be active the whole time it is best to share this website with fellow hunters in order to always know when those precious S ranks will spawn.
I myself use a session tracked for the Lich server where approximatly 80 hunters activily input killed marks.
Lich Hunt Tracking
It is also advised to try and get into a few good LS where hunters share found locations. I've got 1 active at the moment that provides me +- 10 locations per hour, in return i also share all locations i happen to find.
If you happen to find a mark it is up to you to decide if and to whom you are gonna share it, the rules i follow:
- B Rank - I will share this one with my party first, followed by FC. Depending on how active the LS is i will also share it to my LS. Remember that this means longer waiting.
- A Rank - I will share this one with my party first, followed by FC. The LS will also be alerted and i'll indicate its an A rank (= bigger reward)
- S Rank - I haven't found one myself yet. Should i find one i will share it with party, FC, LS and the region by /shout
- ALWAYS set a pull time if you happen to find the mark. Communicate the pull time clearly to everyone joining in on the hunt, for example: pull @ 19 means the mark will be pulled 19 minutes after the hour. If it's 8 o clock on the server this means 08:19.
Macro's
Setting up a macro to alert your party, LS and FC for found hunts can be handy if you . By sharing your hunt locations other people will be more inclined to share theirs.
Example:
Code:
/p Hunt Found: <t> || <pos> || <se.8>
/fc Hunt Found: <t> || <pos>
/wait 15
/l1 Hunt Found: <t> || <pos>
This will post the mark name and your current possition to your party and FC followed by a post in your LS (assign the right LS number instead of L1) after 15 seconds.

Rewards
Hunting is a great source of endgame gear. With the mythology and soldery tomestomes you will be able to buy iLvl 90 and iLvl 110 tomestones in Revenants Toll.
The allied seals can be traded in for various stuff at the Huntmaster, he can be found at your Grand Company House.
- Lvl 90 glamour gear (20-80 seals)
- Furniture (100 - 300 seals)
- The infamous Blood Spattered log (250 seals)
The Blood spattered log is the item we want. With it you will be able to buy the necessary items to upgrade your unweatherd soldery gear (iLvl 100) to their full form (iLvl 110).
Sands of time - 3 Blood Spattered Logs (750 converted seals), convert left side gear (weapon + armor)
Oils of time - 2 Blood Spattered Logs (500 converted seals), convert right side gear (accesoires)
The two items can both be bought at a vendor in Revenants Toll. Once you have obtained an item and an unweathered soldiery gear piece you will need to take these to the crafting place next to Gerold (Nothern Shroud - Fallguard Float) in order to command a craft of the iLvl 110 gear.
