Goed nieuws voor de Gumball fans

De route van de Gumball 3000, editie 2006 is vrijgegeven. Deze zal van start gaan op Zondag 30 april in Londen en zal Brussel doorkruisen!
Verwacht word dat ze op 30 april in de late avond of nacht aankomen in Brussel. Of er een stop zal zijn is nog niet duidelijk. Maar het is 100% zeker dat ze door Brussel zullen rijden.

Dear Gumballers,

ROUTE
After much deliberation, rolls of red tape, recees, meetings with Governments and world leaders, the UN, mayors and the military we can now confirm the definitive route of the 2006 World Rally.
Setting the benchmark for all modern day explorers, the start flag will drop in Central London on Sunday 30th April, when 100 of the most amazing cars, stars and eccentrics will set off on stage one driving a 1000 mile route through Europe, crossing the capital cities of Brussels, Vienna, Budapest, and upon reaching ‘war torn’ Belgrade, all cars and drivers will be airlifted in Russian Antanov cargo planes and an Icelandic Air Boeing 757 to Asia for stage 2.
After landing on the idyllic tropical Island of Langkawi off the coast of Malaysia, the route follows a 1000 mile drive through the beaches and tropical rainforests of Thailand to reach Bangkok for another huge party. The following day the grid will again be airlifted to Salt Lake City, USA, for the final 1000-mile stage through the desert. The route will travel via the Bonneville Salt Flats to Las Vegas and then onwards to cross the finish line on the famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills on Sunday 7th May, ready to party the night away with Hugh Hefner and his Playmates at the famous Playboy Mansion!

Dear 2006 Gumballers (and fans),

February is now with us and there is now less than three months to go until the start in central London! With only 5 spaces now remaining we have cars ranging from Bugatti Veryons’ and one off Ferraris driven by Arab sheiks to eccentric car enthusiasts in old Astons. This year will provide the most amazing mix of cars ever to be seen together, a true spectacle for participants and crowd alike and this really will go down as being the most talked about event of the year. With 250,000 fans watching last years start we are expecting even bigger crowds this year with all of the major cities the rally travels through getting behind the event. This Gumball will also be filmed for an 8 part TV series to be distributed by ESPN worldwide and will provide a backdrop for a Gumball 3000 Hollywood scripted film. Pamela Anderson and Missy Elliot will be joining us for the US leg and Gumball veterans Adrien Brody, Johnny Knoxville and Tony Hawk will be on the road with us for this 3000 mile adventure.

Confirmed dates are the 29th of April until the 7th of May.
29 April - Registration Day and Start Party
30 April - Rally start in the afternoon
1-2nd May - Europe leg
3-5th May - Asian leg
6-7th May - US leg

Hoeveel auto's passen er zoal in een Antanov ? Kan mij inbeelden dat ge met 2 of 3 nog ni direct toekomt.

De gumballers doen het rustig aan in België..

What greeted us in Belgium I can only describe as unbelievable. It was 2-3am and the streets were lined with thousands of people taking pictures and asking for autographs. We struggled to get through to the checkpoint due to the amount of people on the streets and around the Chateaux. Once there we had a quick bite, a call of nature, then back on the road. We took it easy through Belgium as word was out that the police here would come down hard if caught speeding. Once in Germany and it was plain sailing.

Ok...ik wil het inschrijvingsgeld voor die race wel eens weten (ff een Antonov huren iemand? :oink:

).

Het gaat heerlijk tegen alle wetten in en je kan er de politie heerlijk mee op hun dak krijgen dus ik ben zeer verheugd dat ze door België komen.

Blijkbaar zouden ze zich kalm houden zodat er geen doden vallen, laten we hopen dat ze die belofte ook min of meer nakomen (wat show mag er altijd gegeven worden, maar nu ook weer niet overdrijven

) zodat het voor iedereen (of toch bijna voor iedereen

) een feest blijft.

Mss ga ik wel eens een kijkje nemen, ik weet nog niet of ik de moeite ga doen (zo super exclusief zijn de meeste auto's nu toch ook weer niet).

The entry fee for the Event is £40,000 (Forty Thousand Pounds Sterling) which is based on two (2) people per car. The entry fee for previous participants in the Gumball 3000 rally is £30,000 (Thirty Thousand Pounds Sterling). The entry fee covers yourself plus one (1) passenger. If you wish to have additional passengers in your vehicle the fee is £10,000 (Ten Thousand Pounds Sterling) per additional passenger.
You are responsible for paying the entry fee for your vehicle plus any additional fees for any additional passengers in your vehicle or for your support vehicle. The entry fee for your vehicle and any additional fees for additional passengers and/or drivers or for your support vehicle are due and payable within dates specified by Gumball HQ. Failure to pay the full entry fee by the specified date will lead to either (at the Organiser's sole discretion) you being refused access to and participation in the Event and to you forfeiting such amounts of the entry fee that you have paid, or to you being liable to a late payment fee of £1,000 (One Thousand Pounds Sterling) in addition to the entry fee.

Dus £40.000 voor een nieuwe deelnemer met 1 wagen en 2 inzittende
£30.000 voor deelnemers die al hebben meegedaan in een vorige editie
en £10.000 per inzittende als ge er meer dan 2 wilt meepakke..

£1 = 1,50€ zeker ?

Lol, €60.000 + de gebruikelijke boete's (pak voor de gemakkelijkheid €40.000) = €100.000.

En dat voor een paar dagen racen, en dan moogt ge uw auto nog niet in de prak rijden.

Mja, ge moet al erg veel rente hebben van uw geld om zoiets te kunnen doen.

Pfff, those memories.

Het was idd erg gestoord vorig jaar. Werkelijk om slecht van te komen. Hopelijk zijn ze dit jaar zo slim om dranghekkens ofzo te plaatsen. Die auto's reden werkelijk verre over je tenen.

Als ze stoppen in brussel op de grote markt gaak zeker gaan zien, en anders wss ook

Idem hier, op m'n 16 met ne maat afgesproken om mee te doen (met Toyota Supra) maar ja, de Supra heeft accidentje gehad en we wisten toen nog ni da ge geld moest betalen om mee te doen

Dus tzal wss niet voor dees leven zijn...
