The Route
Sunday 3rd September 2006
The adventure begins with a 250-mile dash through France, Belgium and Holland into Germany and the first stopover, Cologne. Home to over 80,000 students with countless bars, beer halls and night clubs awaiting the thirsty traveller.
Monday 4th September 2006
Dust off those sleepy eyes as the challenge heats up with the endurance part of the rally. The 400-mile journey takes the teams along the famous autobahn into the Czech Republic and onto Prague via its new superhighway. Prague today, as it has been over the centuries, is a vibrant ever-evolving city with a fine tradition for culture and the arts. Coupled with a thriving social scene (and first-rate beer) visitors to Prague will find much to enjoy here.
Tuesday 5th September 2006
After breakfast/lunch the teams will make their way out of the Czech Republic, through Slovakia and into Hungary for the third night’s stopover, Budapest. As one of Europe's truly great capital cities, first time visitors are usually overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of the city. Divided in two by the Danube, the numerous vantage points from hilly Buda and Óbuda offer spectacular views of a flat, busy, sprawling Pest on the river's eastern bank.
Wednesday 6th September 2006
Things start to get a little more relaxed in terms of driving distances as we reach the latter stages of the rally. The fourth day takes the teams on a 200-mile drive through the Hungarian countryside along the enchanting Lake Balaton into Croatia and onto its capital, Zagreb. The summer nights in this city are spent in the open-air nightclubs around Lake Jarun; which is where we will be partying until sunrise.
Thursday 7th September 2006
This morning we head southwards to the Adriatic coast to the historic town of Primosten, a stopover close to possibly the most beautiful sight in Croatia. The Krka National Park is a spacious, largely unchanged region of exceptional and multifaceted natural value where the teams will relax and swim under the numerous cascading waterfalls that are found here. A Big highlight!
Friday 8th September 2006
So it ends, the final day of what would have been a truly amazing experience for those of you who have been part of it. The rally will make its final lap of honour onto one of Croatia's islands for what will be the party to end all parties. We can’t wait
