Wordt er eigenlijk nog naar Hip Hop geluisterd hier ? Het enige wat ik hoor is een soort van droevige lil wayne toestanden.
Sorry mensen maar dit versta ik niet onder HipHop. Graag zou ik een thread zien met echte Hip Hop !

Today Hip-Hop is considered to be dead in the mainstream because so-called mainstream Hip-Hop doesn't have the elements of hip-hop and have no meaning.
The stuff on MTV and the radio can't be called Hip-Hop because the lyrics don't have any meaning or self expression. Wack artists today just rap about their shopping lists and other bullshit. There are no more DJs making a prescence since artists today think they can manage without them. Without a DJ there are no scratches and cuts. No much graffiti art is being shown in videos. Artists such as 50 Cent, Nelly, Chingy, J-Kwon, P. Diddy, Cash Money Millionaries lack the 4 elements since their lyrics are ridiculous (no MCing skills), they don't have any DJ presence in their tracks (notice that so-called hip-hop today lacks scratches and cuts), and not much graffiti art is being expressed.
The point of this defintion is to show that MTV/Radio mainstream Bling Rappers should be categorized as Hip-Pop artists, not Hip-Hop artists.

Went to the first show on the Drake V Lil Wayne tour in Darien Lake NY last night, shit was wild.
Before the show people were camping out and drinking. So many sexy girls, ton of way too short shorts and crop tops. Idk where these girls hang out normally but I need to fucking go there.
I came with a girl I'm sorta seeing so couldn't get numbers. Seriously bros, go with your boys there were tons of good looking girls getting drunk. I was kinda down when I left because there were so many missed options. Be careful though, buddy was talking to one who I would've sworn looked 21 but was actually 16. Makeup, yo.
Local rapper opened followed by Yo Gotti who was alright. Got the crowd amped up but no one knew his stuff.
There's an app you can download to "powerup" Drake or Wayne by mashing a button. Wayne won, so he went first. Crowd went nuts for him.
**Some spoilers for the show below, nothing major but might ruin the surprise if that matters to you.
Played a mix of old stuff and new stuff. Only two songs off Rebirth both of which were good. Drake came on second and killed it. Highlights for me were him serenading an older women with "Youre a good [woman] and you know it" which he does at every show, Started from the Bottom and All Me. Ton of stuff off the last album.
They went back and forth throwing shots at each which people were going "OH SHIT SHOTS FIRED" like it was serious. Next, they did features, Pop That, Bandz make her dance, Who do you love which was dope, probably my favorite of the night. At the end, Wayne won the best rapper in the world and Drake gave him props for being his mentor.They finished with She Will, The Motto, Bitches Love me and a few others i don't even remember.
Overall, highly recommend it. Apparently front row seats were going for almost 2500, lawn was 45. Energy on the lawn was hyped, but a young crowd.

Nu buiten deze twee heren is er nog goeie recente hiphop met hopen...

Nicki Minaj had misschien wel een deftige artiest kunnen worden tot ze met Young Money is beginnen rondhangen. Rhymen kan ze wel maar ze kiest voor makkelijke route.

Tgoh ik geef zelden een moer om lyrics vreemd genoeg zolang de flow maar goed zit maar ik moet het eerste nummer van Lil' Wayne dat ik goed vind nog tegenkomen.

Ben ook niet echt fan van lil wayne maar hij krijgt wel veel onnodig hate imo. Zeker als je dan zo'n comments ziet van ixtro hierboven
vaak is een goede beat + catchy hook al goed genoeg voor mij, wat bv bij drake vaak het geval is.

College Dropout is het meeste hiphop pur sang imo. De rest heeft een hoger pop gehalte. Gewoon chronologisch.
