The New York singer Fiona Apple has decided to cancel her concert at Primavera Sound in Barcelona for reasons beyond the control of the organisers of the festival. The Australian band Crime & The City Solution will not perform in the Parc del Fòrum either as they have cancelled their European tour. Unfortunately, the concerts in Porto and Barcelona of Foxygen and Fidlar have also been cancelled, as both bands will not be touring Europe.
Django Django, from Britain that became one of the bands of 2012 thanks to hits like "Default" and "WOR" on their self-titled album. They will join the Barcelona edition with their modern sound that flirts with African music.
From Athens to Barcelona comes Matthew Houck fronting his project Phosphorescent. If his previous album seemed to be the culmination of his long career, his latest album "Muchacho" has raised the stakes taking Houck to the forefront of the most elusive Americana music.
Two new acts join the electronic input at Parc del Fòrum: Dj Koze, one of the pivotal contributors on the German label Kompact, who this month has released his new LP "Amygdala", and the British producer Scuba who will present his brilliant live show that premiered in the UK a few months ago and confirms that he is one of the leaders of electronic dance music today.
The Drones will visit both cities hosting the festival. With their latest record "I See Seaweed", this band has reached one of the high points of a brilliant career that has made them and their uncompromising rock into one of the Australian bands of the moment.
Optimus Primavera Sound in Porto adds Headbirds to its line up, a Catalan electronic music producer who moves between British bass sounds and 90s electronic music
As part of the PrimaveraPro activities, on Tuesday 21st May at La [2] de Apolo in Barcelona there will be a showcase that will include bands from Argentina and Poland. La Plata will introduce three of its most representative artists: 107 Faunos, currently one of the most important band in the city, instrumental rock with marked kraut rock influences from Go-Neko! and psychedelic punk from the band normA. Under the banner "Don´t Panic! We Are From Poland" comes Twilite, sensitive acoustic avant-folk and rock with hints of post punk by Plum.
