Dan steun ik weer de underdog.
Pavement is niet overroepen? Eerder underrated, zeker in hun tijd.. (concurrentie van nirvana etc).
Dit vond ik wel 'n leuke 'review' van de band;
Oh joyous day... Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before Pavement reformed to show the world who is best... That's right, best I said. Back in the 90's Pavement we're the band for me. I liked Nirvana, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth etc. but it was Pavement that spoke loudest. When pre-ordering Pavement records at my local record store the owner would rip the piss out of me because 'he can't sing'. 'He can sing!' I said... 'Malkmus is fucking king' I would shout as I ran from the shop, Brighten the Corners in hand. When Wowee Zowee came out I took three days off school to smoke it up and get familiar... Some of the best days of my existence. When I saw them play Manchester as part of their final tour I spent the majority of the time crying with joy, I don't remember being happier. One of the most distinctive and influential bands of the 90s, Pavement accompany their mega world tour with a 23 track Best Of, compiled by the band and featuring a host of classic and obscure tracks. 'Quarantine The Past' is an excellent starting point for new comers to the Pavement sound and a delight for those already familiar. The remasters sound unbelievable. I imagine Malkmus singing these songs wearing a crown.
