STEP ONE
August 14th at Malderen
with:
Panacea
For the first time in step one history; we are proud to announce a foreign guest DJ. on top of that; we found someone fitting to the outdoor rave concept.
Panacea emerged in 1996 with his massive full-length low profile darkness - a landmark debut that smashed headfirst into drum & bass by musically invigorating and unifying movements that artists such as alec empire (dhr) and ed rush & nico (no u-turn) had lead in developing. the leading member of the position chrome collective, panacea has gone on to release over 20 EPs and 3 LPs.

Redaiz
Redaiz started deejaying hip hop in 1997 but after borrowing a pile of drum & bass records from his close friend Leno a year later he caught the drum & bass virus. He started to sharpen up his skills and looking for his own style of mixing. He soon started to play out at local youthclubs and partys, rocking the dancefloors with his hard beats. Some time later he and his friends decided to form the Crooked Cru and trow some mad free partys with some of the best djs from Belgium, Holland & even some UK guests.

Karbonkid oldskool set
Karbonkid got into jungle/drum'n'bass through hiphop and raving in the BXL/Leuven party scene late 1997. He's been collecting the music since and over the years it has become a strong passion..Karbonkid played the finals of the 2nd BBeatz SoundClash b2b with good friend Kriktonite @ Kultuurkaffee BXL and got picked up by Dice and DLN to join Bambu, who had already made a name for themselves for some time.Karbonkid's distinct style can be described as combining the rhythmic energy of jungle with the vibe of 80's hiphop and the magic of the early metalheadz soundscapes... from powerful to deep, from edgey to smooth, from rolling to breaks heavy.

Kronik Flakes
The founding fathers of the londerzeel drum'n'bass scene, Bacchus and Spliffrider warm up and cool down the soundsystem.
Bacchus & spliffrider like to blend lots of different d&b styles, into a nice set. The records draw their attention by the tunes that are on them; not the producer/label on the sleeve. This results in a different style & vibe each time. The Kronikflakes point one ear to the streets & the other to the charts Expect the unexpected, spiced up with a sauce of early techstep sounds.

MC DOC & Catharsis
They will be the Vocal talents this year, so bring your rattlers; horns, whistles or trumpets, coz these guys will hype u up till the break of dawn.
DOC is (Jungle tactics' & Dedkob's Rhyming Poët) who pumped up the vibe last year. He has been spitting his lines all over Belgium and has a part in the grafitti jamzz in Hasselt.
Catharsis is a drum & bass deejay from the Stealth Industries crew, seen at the very first episode of step-one. He rides the mike just as good as he rocks the decks. This year, the mike will be his weapon of choice.
Once again we're preparing to invade Malderen and shake the earth for a night with the same familiar concept, growing each year a little bit bigger and better.
For those who don't know:
Step one is an open air free drum & bass party on a quiet field in the Flemish countryside.
Again, we made and are making a big effort to give you a high quality party with a varied line-up at a great location. We'll give you a fat soundsystem and nice visual effects and most of all a great time, whilst sticking to the free party concept.
On offer will be free camping space so the wasted headz don't have to worry about driving home, parking facilities, a shuttle service from & to the trainstation, good food and cheap drinks.
For info on how to get there, bios, pictures and more, visit www.step-one.com or join our discussion board here
