Aguirre to Metz or Anderlecht
Peruvian international striker Wilmer Aguirre will move to France with Metz, or Belgium with Anderlecht, according to his agent.
The Alianza Lima front man has scored eight goals in 18 games so far this season in the Peruvian Apertura, but could already have played the last game for his club.
His form has been a major factor in the league leaders' race to the title, but he is now set to face the challenge of adapting to a European style of play.
"I can't assure you of anything at the moment, but it's true what is being said, Aguirre will continue his career in Belgium or France," the player's agent Guillermo Cuellar revealed.
"The teams that are interested in Aguirre are Metz and Anderlecht.
"Metz have already offered $500,000 [£270,000] to Alianza Lima and have even reached an agreement with the player for his contract, but in the meantime the interest of Anderlecht appeared.
"They have an advantage because they play Champions League football, and that could sway the player in his final decision."
Metz would like the 23-year-old to help them bounce back to Ligue 1 in the coming season, while Jupiler League champions Anderlecht will be looking to make a significant impact on the UEFA Champions League for the first time
