Lijstje van Indiewire met de beste films van het halve decennium.

Leek het me interessant om ook de forumgangers hier daar eens over te bevragen. Bij deze dus graag je ranked list van films uitgebracht van begin 2020 tot eind 2024!

Hier een algemeen, niet overweldigend overzicht maar let op de vote cutoff en not india dus vergeet je persoonlijke favorieten niet moesten deze buiten die thresholds vallen.

Eind deze maand zal ik een gewogen lijst compileren uit de inzendingen om zo een algemener overzicht van de favoriete films van het beyond gaming publiek te bekomen. Je nr 1 telt voor 3, de rest van je top 10 voor 2, alles onder de 50 voor 0,5. Je hoeft geen top 100 te posten maar wel minstens een top 30 om opgenomen te worden in de compilatie lijst.

Ah oei sorry had mijn all time ranking gefilterd op dit decennium op letterboxd. Hoe zit het dan met films als The Brutalist die hier in 25 zijn uitgekomen maar hun wereldpremiere in 24 hadden?

Ik zou het voor het gemakkelijk te houden gewoon op productiedatum houden ipv release date. Is denk ik het simpelste om via sites zoals IMDB en letterboxd op te vragen.

Voorlopige ranking. Ik edit nog één dezer. En wauw naar de aantallen die hier passeren.

Zijn nummer één bevestigt nog maar eens dat @Koonut een van de realest motherfuckers hier is.

Ik ben ook eens aan't kijken naar een lijstje, ondanks dat ik eigenlijk numerieke ratings een beetje dwaas vind. Had mijn Letterboxd gesorteerd op hoeveel sterren ik de films gegeven heb maar da's vaak ook maar een getal dat ik er op het moment op geplakt heb, zonder al te diep na te denken. Regelmatig films tegen gekomen die ik pakweg 3.5 gegeven heb, waar ik met meer plezier aan terugdenk dan aan enkele van 4/5.

Misschien hier en daar nog een film proberen in te halen en dan post ik eind van de maand iets ingegeven door de inspiratie van het moment.

Top 4 zijn 5-sterrenfilms voor mij. Daarna is de ranking nogal willekeurig eigenlijk. Vraag het mij straks nog eens en de volgorde is waarschijnlijk compleet anders.

Voorlopige lijst voor het geval ik hier op het eind zou vergeten de mijne te posten. Kan nog wat aangepast worden als ik hier en daar nog een extra film bekijk. Oja en ook geen documentaires in mijn lijst, anders zouden onder andere Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat, All The Beauty And Bloodshed, Notre Corps, Fire of Love en Dick Johnson Is Dead er ook in komen.

Geen Dune part 2?

Ik vond dat op zich wel een goede film, maar kwam echt teleurgesteld buiten toen ik die ben gaan zien in IMAX. Zoals je kan zien uit mijn lijst, ben ik enorme fan van de eerste. Maar met uitzondering van de hele sequentie op de Harkonnen planeet met Austin Butler en Léa Seydoux heeft de tweede film echt geen indruk op mij gemaakt terwijl zijn voorganger dat non-stop deed. Ook de verderzetting van de plot, de romance en het messias thema vond ik lang niet zo boeiend als de manier waarop alles werd geïntroduceerd in deel een.

Ik kijk nog steeds enorm uit naar de derde film die Villeneuve gepland heeft, en ik hoop ze dan allemaal als trilogie te kunnen herbekijken in IMAX.

Zaaaaalig, goed idee ook om eens enkel de 20s te pakken. Over de manier van scoring heb ik wel mijn gedacht maar ik snap dat het voor eenvoud een makkelijke optie is. Het verschil in tussen nr. 10 en 11 is qua scoring te groot lijkt me. Aftellen van 100 naar 1 is een optie en als je geavanceerd wilt gaan is er altijd de methode van het icmforum die al decennia lang zo'n lijstjes produceren.

Ik ga trouwens nog een twee a drie films proberen kijken waarvan ik denk dat ze wel in de lijst komen. Alsook neem ik enkel films op die ik een 7+ geef (<30%) dus ik zal niet aan 100 komen. Mijn nummer 1 ken ik wel al

Zijn toch al vrij veel inzendingen om het manueel te doen dus zal het wel automatiseren en dan kunnen de gewichten idd wat complexer en zal dan gaan voor 100>1 aftellend als dat goed is voor iedereen.

Het was eigenlijk Part 1 die ik bedoelde! Beetje hetzelfde gevoel als mr. Streetgang hierboven. Ik vind Dune een zeer geslaagde adaptatie maar uiteindelijk is het vrij stoffige scifi (pun intended) die voor mij een beetje koel aanvoelt, daarom dat die relatief laag staat. Ik verkies Part 1 door de worldbuilding en ondanks de kritiek destijds dat het een halve film is, voelt deze toch iets meer als een op zichzelf staand geheel aan dan Part 2. En Part 1 heb ik in de cinema gezien, Part 2 niet, dat zal ook wel veel voor de ervaring gedaan hebben.

Heb ze wel allebei nog maar één keer gezien, misschien dat ik mijn mening wat bijschaaf als ik vlak voor Dune Messiah me aan een rewatch waag.

Misschien dat ik mijn lijst ook nog uitbreid tot 100. Ik vind bij dit soort lijstjes vaak de lagere regionen wat interessanter omdat daar soms verborgen pareltjes of vreemdere films kunnen tussen zitten. Hoe dichter bij 1, hoe meer de usual suspects doorgaans opduiken.
