Psychedelic journeys: the first trip

Ben ik hier dan echt de enige fan van Eloy (Duitse prog)...?

Ik luister ook vaak naar de albums Inside (eerste nummer heeft in sommige delen iets weg van Echoes van Pink Floyd) en Floating. Zijn albums uit de beginperiode en misschien minder uitgebalanceerd dan bovenstaand nummer (maar wmb niet minder goed).
 
Denk dat deze misschien hier past, twijfelde tussen dit topic en dat met experimental rock:

Voor het eerst is de muziek van Les Rallizes Dénudés op de streamingkanalen verschenen. Een legendarische Japanse underground psych/noise groep, vooral ’77 Live is een fantastisch album ondanks de niet zo geweldige opnamekwaliteit.

The Non Travellin' Band were a psychedelic band from Madison, WI active from 2012 - 2017. Held together by the minds of Lue Lueck, Brother Joseph Tucci, Dead Luke and a rotating cast of others, the band ultimately lived up to their name by never playing a single note outside the city limits. In any given month, you could catch them a couple times at Mickey’s Tavern, their unofficial home base, where they were working out their material in a live setting. “Rest in Peace, Hippie” was recorded as a coda to their creative run as a band in the winter of 2017, all tracks were laid down in a fever dream over 4 days in a local living room and a basement. The only documentation that now remains of the Non Travellin’ Band are a spattering of demos on a Soundcloud account with long forgotten login credentials, an out of print live cassette on Moon Glyph Records, and the posthumous “Rest in Peace, Hippie.”

Japanse band op Guru Guru Brain, het label van Kikagaku Moyo en Minami Deutsch (die laatste spelen een optreden tijdens de Gentse Feesten in een kelder, allen daarheen).

Approach to Anima, the group’s debut album released on Guruguru Brain, finds maya ongaku building a foundational groove while tapping into their innermost psyche. Sonoda’s malleable guitar and vocals, Takano’s sinuous bass lines, Ikeda’s floating woodwinds, and a sprinkling of delicate percussion—all coalesce into an aural experience that’s assertive yet abstract, calm but unsettling. The slow building, sax-laden “Approach” serves as an introduction to maya ongaku’s world, while the appropriately-named “Water Dream” floats its way toward the gentle finale of “Pillow Song.” It’s a concise distillation of their many interests and influences, from Neo-Dada and Fluxus, to where contemporary art intersects with the development of modern recording technology in the ‘60s and ‘70s.


As the title suggests, Approach to Anima is not intended to be a terminus; it’s merely the beginning of an exploration. The three childhood friends that comprise maya ongaku are always looking beyond the confines of the idyllic but rapidly gentrifying enclave of their beloved Enoshima. Feeding off of the energy that still radiates from the triumphant, decade-long journey of their label bosses’ band Kikagaku Moyo, who rose to global prominence from scrappy beginnings busking on the streets of Takadanobaba, they hope to go wherever inspiration takes them, to anywhere around the globe where their music can find a home.

Klinkt imo erg goed. Het helikoptergeluid, gevolgd door een constant lekker laag en onheilspellend bas(?)geluid.
Weer eens een band met één enkel, maar waarschijnlijk uitstekend album.
EDIT: Dit komt uit 1972 1974, maar was zijn tijd duidelijk ver vooruit imo.
Naar het hele album aan het luisteren, en ik vind het zoals verwacht echt een aanrader! (Ik wou dat ik beter was in muziek omschrijven...)
