Thank you to everyone who participated and correctly submitted their ballots of 25 favourite films. In the end, that ended up being 1,983 of us. Overall, I was really impressed by the passion and knowledge for cinema that was clearly evidenced in your responses. Also, from a personal perspective, thank you for bringing to my attention many films that I had never previously crossed paths with.

A top 1,005 films listing has been derived (beginning below) encompassing all the films that registered 9 votes or more. I hope you don't mind, but to garner a little mystery/suspense, I've decided to gradually unveil the top 1,005 films (don't worry, I'm talking in intervals of days here, not weeks).

A total of 5,945 individual titles were chosen and I will make available a spreadsheet listing of all these titles once the full list of 1,005 films has been revealed. Other statistical data will also be provided. This will include a listing of the most popular directors, plus breakdowns by decade, country and more.

I've really enjoyed putting this together, and I am genuinely intrigued by some of the films selected, as much by those that received one vote, as with some of those that received many votes. The top 1,005 itself seems like a jolly amalgam of mainstream, cult, arthouse, and classic cinema. It, of course, houses many of the usual suspects, but it is also populated by a sturdy number of curiosities. I think this list makes a very worthwhile, crowd-pleasing companion to the 1,000 Greatest Films and 21st Century lists, and I'm sure you will be adding many of the films included to your watch lists, as I have already done.

OK then, listed below, we begin with 145 films that garnered 9 votes and 10 votes respectively. The films with 9 votes all tied for 923rd position, and those with 10 votes tied for 861st position. These films, in effect occupy positions 1,005 to 861.

Van mijn nominaties staan Good Time en Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... and Spring er nipt in.

De laatste 850 maken ze later nog bekend. Hopelijk komt Valerie en Love Exposure er ook nog in, want daar heb ik niet op gestemd omdat ik ze later had gezien.
