Legatus zei:
Hij zei "Now, the poor guy" "you gotta see this guy" als in nu moet je is zien hoe hij zijn woorden moet inslikken -> "aah i don't remember", "I don't know what i have said"
Laten we dan misschien eens heel het verhaal bekijken. Waarom valt Trump Kovaleski aan?
Trump tijdens 1 van zijn rallies: “Hey, I watched when the World Trade Center came tumbling down. And I watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down. Thousands of people were cheering.”
Nadien in interview: STEPHANOPOULOS: “You know, the police say that didn’t happen and all those rumors have been on the Internet for some time. So did you misspeak yesterday?”
TRUMP: “It did happen. I saw it.”
STEPHANOPOULOS: “You saw that…”
TRUMP: It was on television. I saw it.
STEPHANOPOULOS: “…with your own eyes?”
TRUMP: “George, it did happen.”
STEPHANOPOULOS: “Police say it didn’t happen.”
TRUMP: “There were people that were cheering on the other side of New Jersey, where you have large Arab populations. They were cheering as the World Trade Center came down. I know it might be not politically correct for you to talk about it, but there were people cheering as that building came down — as those buildings came down. And that tells you something. It was well covered at the time, George. Now, I know they don’t like to talk about it, but it was well covered at the time. There were people over in New Jersey that were watching it, a heavy Arab population, that were cheering as the buildings came down. Not good.”
STEPHANOPOULOS: “As I said, the police have said it didn’t happen.”

Trump beweert dus valselijk dat hij op tv heeft gezien dat er 1000den moslims aan het juichen en vieren waren in New Jersey op 9/11. Hij haalt hiervoor ook het artikel aan van Kovaleski als bewijs: Kovaleski, then at The Washington Post, wrote a week after the 9/11 attacks that "law enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of the river."
A number of people is volgens Trump thousands and thousands.
When Trump said during the presidential campaign that he watched thousands of people celebrate, Kovaleski disputed the claim: "I certainly do not remember anyone saying that thousands or even hundreds of people were celebrating. That was not the case, as best as I can remember." Of course, “a number of people” obviously does not equal “thousands” — and “allegedly” indicates there is no video footage or other proof that celebrations actually took place. Recall that Trump claimed he saw this on television — and that it was “well covered at the time.” This newspaper article appeared days later.
Lang verhaal kort:
Trump verspreidt leugens. Journalist zegt dat Trump liegt en kan dit ook bewijzen. Trump kan hier uiteraard niet tegen en maakt de journalist dan maar belachelijk. Dus nee, op geen enkele manier valt dit goed te praten van Trump.
EDIT: Kovaleski has said that while reporting on Trump for the New York Daily News, the two had been on a first-name basis and had met face-to-face on a dozen occasions, including interviews and press conferences in the late 1980s. That the two knew each other was corroborated by multiple other witnesses. Maar nee, hij wist het niet.
