Just days after Slovakian sensation Marek Hamsik was robbed at gunpoint in Naples, another Serie A star, Ronaldinho, has suffered at the hands of thieves. The Brazilian star’s villa in Galliate Lombardo was burgled during Monday night and the early hours of Tuesday morning, with bandits taking tens of thousands pounds worth of jewellery and watches.
Ronaldinho was not at home at the time, as he had flown out to Brazil for the Christmas holidays only a few hours earlier.
Incredibly, the thieves, who obviously did not plan their robbery very well, overlooked Ronaldinho’s most prized possession, which was staring them right in the face - the trophy cabinet which contains all the medals he has won during his career, including his prestigious 2005 Golden Ball.
Thieves become thieves for a number of reasons – and a lack of intelligence is often one of them.
