Wat is BGs favoriete film uit het jaar XXXX ?

Woof zeg, ik wist niet dat 1975 zo een stevig jaar was. Dit is misschien wel het meest stacked jaar voor mij tot nu toe. Ik knal effe alles op nen hoop: Shivers, Picnic at Hanging Rock, One Flew, Barry Lyndon, Profondo Rosso, Monthly Python and Holy Grail, Jeder Für Sich Und Gott Gegen Alle, Dog Day Afternoon, Nashville, Jaws, Race With the Devil, Adele H, Salo, The Man Who Would Be King, Tommy en het (eerste helft toch) betere Lisztomania.

Ja hallowkes zuh mannen, dat is echt allemaal top100 materiaal hoor, fucking crazy. En dan heb ik Jeanne Dielman nog niet eens gezien.

En ondanks al die kwaliteit, stem ik voor iets veel minder kwalitatief, maar oh zo veel plezanter:

Zelfs in dit top-jaar, is deze film niet te overtreffen. Ook veruit de film met de langste levensduur, en arguably de grootste culturele impact.

[Jules 'ezechiel 25:17' Winnfield]

Ik dacht eerst voor Spillibergi zijn eerste meesterwerk te gaan en Jaws te stemmen. Maar dan toch liever Barry Lyndon. Als er 1 film is die aan de term "every frame a painting" voldoet dan is het deze wel. Visueel bij de mooiste films ooit en van sommige shots weet ik nog altijd niet hoe Kubrick ze gemaakt heeft. Prachtige muziek erbij en ook die tableaux vivant manier van werken met die heerlijke cast.

Voor mij opnieuw geen twijfel mogelijk. Als ik naar mijn imdb-scores kijk dan spingt er 1 film uit.
Dario Argento on top of his game met een film die zo goed opgebouwd is. Om duimen en vingers bij af te likken! Visueel mss net iets minder dan Suspiria, maar nog steeds zo goed en dikke fun, zelfs na meerdere kijkbeurten en je de plottwist al weet. Overall Argento’s beste werk!

Weer een sterk jaar, een paar van de belangrijkste hebben hier al een stem gekregen, dus ik ben aan het twijfelen tussen Dersu Uzala en Picnic at Hanging Rock die allebei een sterke indruk hebben nagelaten.

Barry Lyndon is toch een van de mooiste films dat ik al heb gezien, elke scène is een levend schilderij. Top tier Kubruck wat mij betreft.

Nope, bekeken films van voor 1980 zijn eerder beperkt. Ik ben wel nog vergeten de Pink Panther films toe te voegen, die heb ik als klein manneke ook wel allemaal gezien.
Ik heb nog een hele inhaalbeweging te doen maar de tijd ontbreekt meestal + er komen uiteraard ook nieuwe films die ik sowieso wil zien.
