Not the "free healthcare" thing again, sheesh.... We both knwo it's not free and it's not in your control, so it's benefit is marginal. I would not lose my house if I lost my job-things like unemployment, severance, and savings take care of that for me. There aren't a whole lot of Americans who are "scavenging" for drugs. This is a great little phrase that socialists worldwide have latched on to, but simply not the case. There is so much insurance in this country it would (and does) make your head spin. Like I've told you before, my total health package through my job is between 5-10 percent of my paycheck. It's private, all encompassing, and mine to do with what I choose-even should I decide to ditch it and keep my money. Now, you hear the phrase "40 million Americans without insurance...blah, blah, balh." Of a nation of 300 million, that's about 13 percent of the total. Now, when you consider that that number represents those between jobs, those who voluntarily choose not to have it, and those who are self employed and don't report such things...well, that number doesn't look the same anymore. There are relatively few jobs in this country that don't offer some kind of (if not comprehensive) health benefits-that's simply the norm amymore. No one is dieing in the streets, if that's your mental image from the media. Sorry to dissapoint..
