I've been heavily invested in this election from the start. As I've said on many occasions, the problems the United States faces right now that is it implode are the exact same problems that was most recently faced 80 years ago... right after Wall Street, the banks, and corporations brought about the Great Depression. At that time, these people were attempting a takeover of government, trying to kill democracy and institute oligarchy and fascism. And that was when Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected in an unprecedented amount of anger... as he told the billionaire class, who did everything they could top stop him, "I welcome your hatred"
That is happening again now. And just as then, it is gravely disastrous for, not just us, but the entire world should this corporate hijack of government take place. Which, it kind of pretty much has, since the Citizens United v FEC law that passed in 2010.
I've been watching Bernie Sanders since before this election. I saw him go on all the tv shows after the democrats' gigantic 2014 loss in the mid-term elections. They lost because they're just like the republicans, so their base doesn't care to show up and vote... but Bernie came on all the shows to kind of console them and to tell them to keep the fight up, we have to take down this system.
I saw him come on the Colbert Report in November 2014, and answer the question of "are you running for president" with him, not saying yes, but that "if the American people are ready to stand with me to take on the billionaire class, then that is something I am willing to do"... as the audience almost broke the building with their
earthquake yells and applause and standing up to jump up and down.
The tens of millions of us who were behind him 150% and made him rocket to the top, with NO media coverage
(even after he won state after state), no SuperPAC
(although he earned $200 million from people averaging $27 each, the most in history), and an establishment that was
so corrupt, it rigged every area of the voting process that they could possibly rig (which I covered thoroughly in this thread)
That illegal rigging of the vote denied the overwhelming will of the people, in order to establish their candidate who would keep corruption as it is. They assumed the monster on the other side by the name of Donald Trump would scare people into doing their bidding. "What choice do they have" they thought. They thought they had it all sealed.
They underestimated just how
disgusted the people were, and they sat back and saw their disgusting candidate go necka nd neck with Trump in the polls the rest of the way.
All the while, Bernie had been...
inexplicably... acting as a lackey for them. Trying to explain away every instance of garbage they were caught in that would leak from WikiLeaks. Even if it included demeaning insults, such as calling him and his supporters 'the red army', or calling them 'radial environmentalists' who should 'get a life' and that they'd never 'stop taking things out of the ground or fracking'.
Throughout all this, Bernie would continually say "thank you sir, may I have another"... to my utter and complete shock.
Now, thanks to this leak... (which WikiLeaks sad they were saving the worst for last)... we know why. Now, we know why.
