Ik zet het hier maar, die andere voetbaltransferthread is misschien meer voor Belgisch voetbal.

United is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement with Partizan Belgrade and the players for Zoran Tosic and Adem Ljajic to join the club.

Tosic, 21, will sign with immediate effect and wear the no.14 shirt, while an agreement is in place for 17-year-old Ljajic to remain with Partizan for the rest of 2009.

A press conference will be held next week, once the necessary paperwork has been filed with the relevant football authorities.

De eigenaars van ManCity hebben zelf aangehaald dat ze spelers als Ronaldo, Messi, Torres, Kaka, ... gingen binnenhalen om dit jaar in de top 4 te eindigen en moeten het nu stellen met spelers als Bridge in hun strijd tegen de degradatie.

Dan denk ik toch dat er wel eens gelachen mag worden met hun uitspraken van een aantal maand geleden.

Als jij ergens kan citeren waar ze dit zeggen geef ik je gelijk. Maar naar mijn weten is dit niet de ambitie voor dit seizoen.

De enigste speler die ze met hun oliedollars gekocht hebben is Robinho. En die kan ook niet op zijn eentje van een midddenmotor plots een top 4 ploeg maken. Rome is ook niet op 1 dag gebouwd.

Al Fahim has already charged Hughes with the task of qualifying for next season's Champions League and the new owners expect this term to be a vast improvement on last season's ninth place finish in the Premier League.

"A place in the Champions League is quite a jump from last season, but we are ready to sit down with the manager, find out the players he would like, and bring the right players into the club," Al-Fahim added.

Speaking to arabianbusiness.com, Dr Sulaiman revealed he had set his sights on Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, Arsenal maestro Cesc Fabregas and Liverpool striker Fernando Torres.

"Ronaldo has said he wants to play for the biggest club in the world, so we will see in January if he is serious," said Dr Sulaiman.

"Real Madrid were estimating his value at $160m (£90m) but for a player like that, to actually get him, will cost a lot more, I would think $240m (£134m).
