"And I agree the school system is quite good, like you said it's completely free, even university, and we also have proper, free school lunches. Some complain the food isn't that tasty, but I think it's quite decent. They follow the "healthy plate model" and there's a lot of variety. Also, when I turned vegetarian and stopped eating dairy products because of my allergy the school started providing with my very own, personal dishes every day, so that I could follow my special diet. I found school as a kid very enjoyable, when you're young the emphasis is on playing and learning in fun ways and the days are very short. There's also a lot of recess, even when you're older. You can also get student benefits paid by the government (and funded by taxes) when you're studying on a higher level, to support you financially. There are a lot of other benefits too, to help you if you're struggling, unemployed or have a small pay. Health insurance is also funded by taxes for everyone and a lot of the health services are free or at least partially covered by the government. The social security system is quite good here, I'm never really scared of going completely broke.
I think having a baby is quite safe here too, the doctor visits are free for the mother and the baby, both the mothers and fathers get a long, paid-for maternity/paternity leave, you get a monthly child benefit for each of your children till they're 17 (I think?) and all the moms get this cool package from the government! "
Zoals gezegd.
